I can't possibly be the first one to ever do this; anyone else ever sliced your finger or hand open on some portion of the metal from a baby formula can?
Earlier today I opened a fresh can of formula so I could make a bottle for my youngest. Because our city has a recycling program, I put the old scoop and lid inside the old can, and prepared to put the metal sealing lid installed by the manufacturer, into the old can in preparation to stick them all in the recycling bin. To do this, I needed to bend the metal lid in half so it would fit. Normally, this process goes just fine for me, but apparently today my brain and hand were entirely out of synch with one another and I sliced my finger open nice and deep. It stung like a dirty monkey!!! Thankfully Ashley was nearby and came and bandaged up my finger and finished making the bottle for me. When she came in I was alternating between still trying to make the bottle, and sticking my finger in my mouth to keep the blood from getting everywhere.
Anyway, my point is, all you parents out there in the blogosphere BE CAREFUL when you're opening cans of powdered baby formula!!! Those things are sharp!!!
